Lesson 08.1 · Phase 08 Builder path
Describe the tool.
01 · The problem
People ask for “an app” and get a feature list. You need a tool described as what a person does with it, and what comes back.
02 · The prompt
Ask for a one-page description: who uses it, the one job, the input, the output, and what it will not do. No screens yet.
Behaviour, not features
Describe a tiny tool for a workshop host. Who: the host, on a phone, ten minutes before class. Job: turn three messy notes into a welcome they can read aloud. Input: notes. Output: eight lines. It will not take payment or store names. No feature list. No screens.
03 · Try itPromptYour prompt
Read it as if you had to build it from the page alone.
Illustrative answer — written for this lesson, not a live model
The host pastes three notes. The tool returns eight lines they can read at the door. It does not keep the notes, take money, or greet people by name. If the notes are empty, it asks for them.
04 · What you made
A description a builder could start from. If you cannot say the input and output, you do not have a tool yet.
